"No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the Continent, a part of the main; if a Clod be washed away by the Sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a Promontory were, as well as if a Manor of thy friends or of thine own were; any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankind; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee." - John Donne

The Price
Every home must have their cars,
And altars for their movie stars,
Side by side refrigerators...
All the things we might need later.
Rush and hurry, can't be late,
Seething if we have to wait.
Move the money; make it talk.
Wear the latest; walk the walk.
And in our efforts to progress,
We find that we have made a mess.

Thanks for sharing this. It does seem that we've lost a lot in a quest for progress.
Yes, we have made a mess. Good work to spread awareness.
Such a simple last line, but it says it all.
Excellent.
how very true. I wonder hoe many of us will consider our addiction to oil after all this?
I posted oil this morning. I just finished reading Dee's scribble and it seems to be that we are reflecting on the same thoughts when considering 'mess'.
I'm happy to know that others are thinking about this disaster as well.
UGH! It makes me so sad. What a perfect description of mess... it truly is a big mess!
wow - we were on the same wavelength. Love the way you ended.
